Vale Castle Park Sul Mincio seen from the Sigurtà The Park is an ecological oasis in Sigurtà Valeggio in the province of Verona . It has an area of 560,000 meters ² and is located just 8 km from Peschiera , near Lake Garda . The park originated from "or walled kitchen garden" of the year 1617, the garden of Villa Maffei in 1859 became the headquarters of Napoleon III . The park continued to grow thanks to the care of Charles Sigurtà that with the right to draw water from the Mincio , was able to make the lush area that otherwise would have been largely arid, the work of construction was continued by his nephew Enzo Sigurtà. In 1978 the park was opened to the public (from March to November) and has since been considered one of the five most beautiful garden parks in the world.
