As widely announced the highly anticipated release 11.1 of OpenSUSE was uploadata on official repositories at 15:00 today. With the unfailing and invaluable contribution of Novell , which has provided additional repositories and mirrors to cover the wave of requests in the first hours, you can already download a copy of the new operating system without any significant problems. Less than a quarter of an hour from the official release a copy of the iso NET was already on my old laptop and right now it is being installed on a test machine. The main new shine:
- Rewriting of the license agreement (it is now possible redistribution)
- sw and open source microprogram the main support
- CDROM for additional sw owner
- proprietary Agfa fonts-fonts with Liberation replaced
- Firefox 3.0.4
- OpenOffice.org 3.0
- Gnome 2.24.1
- KDE 4.1.3
- Mono 2.0.1
- Replaced Sun Java with OpenJDK
For the few who do not know what it is:
OpenSUSE is a free operating system based on Linux and works on your PC, Laptop or Server. You can surf the net, manage e-mails and photographs, work, watch video and listen to music and have a lot of fun!
