OpenSUSE 11.1 is out!

As widely anticipated announced the release of 11.1 openSUSE has been uploaded on the official repositories at 15:00 today. Thanks to the unfailing and invaluable contribution to Novell , which has provided additional repositories and mirrors to meet demands of the first wave of hours, you can already download a copy of the new operating system without any significant problems. Less than a quarter of an hour from the official release a copy of the iso NET was already on my old laptop and right now it is being installed on a test machine. Among the main novelties glow:

  • Rewriting the license agreement (it is now possible redistribution)
  • firmaware sw and open source on the main support
  • Additional CD-ROM for the owner sw
  • agfa-fonts fonts owners replaced with Liberation
  • Firefox 3.0.4
  • OpenOffice.org 3.0
  • Gnome 2.24.1
  • KDE 4.1.3
  • Mono 2.0.1
  • Replaced Sun Java with OpenJDK

For the few who do not know what it is:

OpenSUSE is a free operating system based on Linux and suitable to your PC, Laptop or Server. You can surf the net, manage e-mail and photographs, work, watch videos and listen to music and have a lot of fun!
