- Activate the advanced picture search in Google Webmaster Tools, the same tool that allows the inclusion of a sitemap to Google. You can enable this option via the Diagnostics tab, then under the Tools menu, select Enhanced Image Search.
- Give the image a meaningful name, explaining their content and possibly include the keywords for which we want our image appears in the SERPs.
- Use the ALT attribute and enter a brief description of the image, including some keywords. This is a general rule to ensure accessibility to the site.
- Enter in the description tag using the attribute <IMG> LONGDESC = "descriptive tags", where we replace "descriptive tags" with some meaningful words to describe the image.
